CHENNAI: A book on ‘Educare-The Essence of Real and Complete Education’ that stresses on imbibing values in school education was launched at the T.P.Road branch of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan here on Wednesday. Authored by educational consultant for Pon Vidysharam Group of Schools and former PSBB School principal Pushpa Bala Jagam, the book provides ideas and practical guidelines to integrate moral values with classroom learning. Launching the book, former director of Central Board of Secondary Education G.Balasubramanian said education and values were inseparable entities. Value education assumes significance in elevating an individual’s learning to holistic development from mere literacy, he said. Dean and director of Padma Seshadri Group of Schools Mrs. Y.G.Parthasarathy received the first copy of the book. She later commended the author for her efforts in penning the book and insisted that teachers and parents considered the concepts dealt with in the book. The Chief Commissioner, Customs, Subhash Chander, emphasised the role of educational institutions in grooming students to become responsible citizens. Felicitating the author, Anna University Vice-Chancellor D.Viswanathan said that authoring such a book was an arduous task. He highlighted the role of parents in inculcating moral values to children. The teachers must also update their knowledge to meet the students’ demand.
Additional Director-General of Police R.Nataraj said that parents must set an example to their children who would be part of tomorrow’s society. Chairman of Pon Vidyashram Group of Schools C.Damodaran also participated.
