Bail plea hearing in bus attack case adjourned
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court has adjourned the hearing of a petition for bail by a resident of Bangalore, who is accused of being a member of the mob that had torched the Tamil Nadu State Express Corporation bus in Bangalore in September this year, killing two passengers.
Justice Subash B. Adi adjourned further hearing after the Karnataka Government sought time to procure records relating to the case.
The Madivala police on September 21 named 12 persons of the mob, which also attacked the J.P. Nagar house of Selvi, daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. It was enraged by the comments on Lord Rama by Mr. Karunanidhi. It first attacked Ms. Selvi’s house and then set fire to the bus.
Harish, one of those arrested, had moved the High Court for bail.
