Bar council meeting on Saturday

Kochi: A two-day interactive conference of the Bar Council of India (BCI) and State Bar Councils will be held in Kochi from November 17.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, BCI chairman S. Gopakumaran Nair and chairman of the Bar Council of Kerala P.G. Thampi said the conference would deliberate on the entry of foreign law firms and foreign lawyers into the country. They said the conference would also discuss the role of lawyers in the alternative disputes redressal (ADR) mechanism, particularly in arbitration and also the issue of renewal of enrolment of lawyers.

The other subject was the periodic renewal of enrolment of lawyers.
