Rosaiah inaugurates jewellery and clothe showroom



GLITTERING START: State Finance Minister K. Rosaiah inaugurating the ‘V Square’ shopping mall in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: A mega showroom of jewellery and clothes ‘V Square’, a joint venture of Vaibhav Jewellers and Kankatala, was inaugurated on Thursday by State Finance Minister K. Rosaiah.

Businessmen like Nalli Kuppusami Chetti of Nalli Silks, Chennai; Ajay Mitra of World Gold Council (India); Chairman of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council Sanjay Kothari, former Mayor D.V. Subba Rao, vice-president of World Gold Council (Chennai) Shivram, De-beer’s trade manager Pritesh D. Desai and several others from the city and outside participated in the inaugural function. Proprietors -- Grandhi Manoj and Kankatala Mallik -- and others spoke. The showroom, constructed at a cost of Rs.25 crores with ground plus four upper floors has two blocks -- one for gold, silver, diamond and ruby jewelleries and another for dress material for all.

Wide range

In the jewellery section, the ground floor and first floor has light and heavy gold jewellery, second floor has silver jewellery and articles, the third floor is decked up with a grand collection of diamond, temple and Junagandh jewellery and a fascinating collection of antique jewellery and branded watches adorn the fourth floor of the showroom.

The clothes section has an impressive range of sarees like Banaras brocade, kanjeevaram and konrad and silk sarees like pashmina, kota silk and puttapakshi. A colourful collection of kids wear and men’s accessories are also included in the showroom. Each block has one lakh sq.ft. of carpet area and a 30,000 sq.ft. area has been earmarked for parking so that the customers could park their vehicles without any hassles and do peaceful shopping.
