COIMBATORE: The Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has invited nominations for the ‘Aram’ Award. The criterion for nomination is that the person should have led his or her life based on the tenets of the Thirukkural. The nominee may be an individual or a person attached to a philanthropic organisation. He or she need not necessarily be a Thirukkural research scholar. The nominee need not be a Tamilian. However, the nominee should be an Indian living in India. No individual can nominate himself or herself for this award. A person familiar with the nominee’s way of life may nominate him or her. Every year, Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam gives away the award that carries Rs.1 lakh and a citation. Those who wish to recommend a person for the award can send details about the nominee and his or her contributions to society in not more than two pages to the “Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam,” Greams Dugar, 5th Floor, 149, Greams Road, Chennai – 600 006. The last date for receipt of nominations is December 15.
