Treat for film buffs

Hindi movie buffs in Kochi are busy these days thanks to the release of two big movies this festival season. Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya set the silver screen on fire with its pre-release hype.

Distributors bought the movie rights at record prices. Exhibitors said the hype was high because of the big names associated with each movie. Saawariya was the launch pad of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Om Shanti Om’s surprise cast was Deepika Padukone.
