PARAB fete begins today

KORAPUT: Tribal dances from various places in the State will have the greatest scope in the history of PARAB, the State-level Tribal Festival at Koraput . While on Friday, the opening day of the celebration will feature Odissi dance by Ileana Citraristhi as the lead item, Lok Nrutya of Bargarh, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh in addition to Kathi Nacho of Narayanpatna, Gadaba dance of Lamtaput, Tribal dances from Borigumma and Bandhugaon would bring added attraction to the festival, K.C.Nishanko , District Culture officer of Koraput said.

For the last few years, presentation of Symphony by tribal artists with the combined beating of tribal musical instruments on the main stage has remained to be one of the greatest events for the music lovers, this year artists from Pottangi will present it on the second day of the celebration. Apart from this, Narappa dance of Semiliguda , Gurundi of Kotpad, Balighumar&Rinjodi of Jeypore, Ghumura of Kalahandi , Koya dance of Malkangiri , Durua dance of Kundura will also be staged in the evening, he added.

Paraja Nrutya of Koraput, Dhemsa of Borigumma, Lanjia Saura dance of Rayagada along with Tribal dances from Nuapada, Laxmipur, Nandapur and Dasmantpur would attract the audience.
