Indigo Air spreads wing

BHUBANESWAR: Fourteen months after the launch of its aviation service, Indigo Air has spread its wings to Orissa.

Commencing November 17, it would have daily flights connecting Bhubaneshwar to New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Bhubaneswar was the 16th destination on Indigo’s network, said an official of the airline.

With 14 aircraft, including the latest A320, for Bhubaneswar acquired from France, the airline would now operate 102 daily flights to 16 destinations, he said, and added that by 2010, at least 30 Indian cities would be covered by the aviation company.

The flight from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi would take off at 7.10 p.m. and to Hyderabad and Bangalore at 11.35 p.m. Similarly, the flights would take off from New Delhi at 8.55 a.m., from Bangalore at 3.30 p.m. and from Hyderabad at 5.20 p.m.

The airline would introduce new connectivity from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai and Kolkata in December and to Chennai in January, the official said.
