IT prize for outstanding work

JAIPUR: The Information Technology Centre of Rajasthan Agricultural University has bagged the State-level first prize for outstanding work in the IT sector. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will present a certificate of merit to the IT Centre at a function to be held here shortly.

An official release here said the IT Centre was selected on the basis of its performance during 2005-06. It has been given Rs.3 lakh worth of electronic equipment as part of the prize.

The IT Centre has made a significant contribution to the establishment of Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, e-governance and electronic communication in the university. It also popularised the use of Internet among the faculty members and students.

IT Centre officer in charge Vipin Laddha received the equipment, including server, computers, network apparatus and software, as part of the prize. The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Pratap Narain, congratulated the IT Centre for winning the prize.
