Bihar lawyers stay away

PATNA: Lawyers across Bihar struck work on Thursday in protest against the murder of additional public prosecutor Ram Naresh Sharma in Begusarai last week.

About 80,000 advocates stayed away from the Patna High Court, district and sub-divisional courts, administrative tribunals and other judicial forums. All public prosecutors in Begusarai have put in their papers resenting the government’s “failure” to protect Sharma’s life and bring the culprits to book.
