Blast near bus stand

ARIYALUR: A crude substance exploded outside the bus stand at Ariyalur on Thursday causing anxious moments to the travelling public.Police sources here said S. Chandrababu, a gypsy, had kept the crude explosive substance, meant for use in country guns for hunting rabbits and foxes, near him when a stray dog took it away.

The substance exploded, killing the dog on the spot. The Ariyalur police arrested Chandrababu.
