PUDUKOTTAI: The Labour Department conducted various competitions for school students in connection with the Children’s Day celebrations on Wednesday.
District Revenue Officer G. Prakasam was the chief guest at the valediction held at Raniyar Government Girls Higher Secondary School here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prakasam urged the students to take full advantage of their school life. They should use their school days for laying a strong foundation for building a bright career.
He said the State Government was implementing various schemes for the benefit of the school students. The distribution of free cycles, free notebooks, scholarship, etc., would enable them to concentrate on studies.
The government has also posted adequate teachers in the schools and the students should develop self-confidence and shun inhibitions to come up in life. Rama Subburam, MLA, District Panchayat Chairperson, C. Muthuswami, District Education Officers, R. Boominathan (Pudukottai), G. Venkataswami (Aranthangi), and the Headmaster , R. Bose, spoke.
