Students’ film on peasants

NEW DELHI: The miserable lot of peasants in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra that has forced many of them to commit suicide in the past couple of years has been captured in a film by students of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University here.

The 105-minute film, “Hantaa: The Hapless Soldier”, to be premiered on Friday is the first professional-grade large-scale movie to be made by the students of Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies that is affiliated to I. P. University and the Centre for Media Studies on the campus.
