ADILABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanded Rs. 3,000 per quintal of cotton as minimum support price for the produce. The party also demanded improvement of conditions in hospitals in the agency areas where tribals were facing deaths due to epidemical situation. BJP district president Gone Shamsunder Rao told reporters after a visit to Adilabad market yard that the happenings there in the name of fixing daily price was a farce. He demanded fixing of price separately for each cart load based on separate quality and not an average price for the produce that is the custom. The BJP leader criticised the State Government for its failure to provide proper medicare to tribals in the agency areas from where a large number of deaths are being reported. He said tribals refused to go to Government hospitals becuase of the pathetic conditions there. BJP’s Adilabad in charge Pradeep said the party will take up Telangan chaitanya yatras across the region starting from Adilabad on November 20 and ending on 30th of the same month. Nine rathams will tour the nine assembly constituencies to gather signatures on the Telangana issue and the same will be submitted to the State’s Governor at a later date. BJP State executive committee member Nivedita Vaze and Bharatiya Kisan Morcha district president A. Narayan Reddy and others attended.
