Advanced bullock carts for tribal workers

Sangareddy: Extending the experiment of fitting pneumatic tyres to bullock carts the Tribal Welfare Department in Medak has decided to finance 400 more this financial year.

Last year the department has granted 201 advanced bullock carts fitted with pneumatic tyres to tribal workers who transport sugarcane from the fields to the concerned sugar mill.

The lists of the beneficiaries from the Ganapathi, Trident and the Nizam Deccan sugar mills have been prepared and each one of them would receive fifty percent subsidy on the cost of the cart and the remaining would have to be paid back in equal monthly instalments.

Few minor changes have been made in the structure of the cart this time. The height of the cart has been increased and a tool box has been fitted to the cart. The problem of slipping while negotiating slopes due to pneumatic tyres has been solved by fitting a break to the advanced cart.
