Sangareddy: Medak Collector B. Venkatesam on Thurday,during a surprise visit to the Primary Health Centre of Indupriyal village of Doulatabad mandal, suspended a senior assistant Nagraj. The suspended assistant is said to be on tour without approval. The Collector also found that the medical officer of the PHC also absent from duties. The Collector, who visited the local Government school during the lunch hour, found that the children of upper castes have been boycotting the midday meal cooked by lower caste women. He made all the children sit together and had lunch with them.
He directed the Mandal Revenue Officer to initiate action on those who practice and preach untouchability in the village.
