Hairy tales

Octogenarian Governor N.D. Tiwari’s observations on receding hairlines at the Nehru Yuva Kendra Foundation Day and Nehru Jayanti celebrations on November 14 caused much mirth amongst a predominantly youthful audience.

The gathering broke into peals of laughter when Mr. Tiwari referred to the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s bald pate that was concealed with a cap.

The Governor touched his own cap to indicate Panditji’s ‘open top’.

To add to the gathering’s amusement, he remarked that intellectuals always have bald heads, while looking at Hyderabad district Collector R.V. Chandravadan, who has a quixotic hairstyle and a not-so-youthful Youth Services Minister R.Damodar Reddy, who is fast losing what it takes above the forehead.
