It’s Osmania vs. University of Madras

Mysore: Defending champion, Osmania University, well served by K.H. Praveen and A.S. Suresh Krishna — who won his singles & doubles ties — registered a convincing 3-0 win over last year’s semifinalists Bangalore University in the South Zone inter-university tennis championship at the SJCE courts here on Thursday.

In the final it will clash with University of Madras which drubbed Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, 3-0 in the other semifinal.

The results (semifinals): Osmania University bt Bangalore University 3-0 (K.H. Praveen bt Kaushik S. Raju 6-1, 6-1; A.S. Suresh Krishna bt Jagadeesan Kumar 6-3, 6-1; Praveen / Suresh Krishna bt Raju/Jagadeesan 6-0, 6-3). University of Madras bt Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum 3-0 (N. Vijay Sundar bt S. Prateek 6-4, 6-1; Md. Fariz bt Shishir S. Patil 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-1; Vijay Sundar / Tariq Jacob bt R.K. Praveen / Prateek 7-6(5), 6-3).
