S. Railway wins title

HYDERABAD: Southern Railway won the team championship in snooker with a 2-1 win over Eastern Railway in the final of the 40th all-India Railway billiards and snooker championship at RRC Grounds here on Thursday.

The scores:

Final: Southern Railway bt Eastern Railway 2-1 (Vijay Kumar bt Md. Asim 54-38, 17-64, 56-18; S. Anthim lost to S.K. Jaghtiani 53-36, 24-51, 22-65; Rafat Ali bt Shakeel Ahmed 85-18, 68-9).

Third place: SCR bt SE Railway 2-1 (Vijay Kumar lost to Neeraj Kumar 45-77, 36-69; S. Simhachalam bt P. Edward 83-8, 47-11; K. Venkatesham bt Nazir Ali 59-6, 52-51).
