Biocon denies charge

BANGALORE: Biocon, a biotechnology company based in the Bommasandra Industrial Area, has denied the allegations made by members of the Bangalore Urban Zilla Panchayat at a meeting here on Wednesday (a report on which appeared in these columns on Thursday). Biocon has said, “These accusations are baseless. There is no connection between the water pollution in the area and our company as ours is a zero discharge facility. Biocon is in compliance with the norms laid down by the Pollution Control Board.”
