Holy shopping: People buying offerings for Chhath Puja in New Delhi on Thursday. NEW DELHI: In view of Chhath Puja, elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the Capital from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning. Heavy flow of trafficThe main venues of Chhath Puja will be the banks of the Yamuna. There will be a heavy flow of traffic on the Yamuna bridges at Wazirabad, ISBT, ITO, Nizamuddin and Kalindi. Almost all the roads will be affected by the additional traffic of those joining the puja, said the police on Thursday. Traffic on National Highway-1 will be affected at Mukarba, Bhalswa, Mukundpur, Burari, Jagatpur, Wazirabad, Chandagi Ram Akhara and ISBT. National Highway-2 will be affected between Raj Ghat, Ashram Chowk and Badarpur border. Traffic will also be affected on Wazirabad Road, Grand Trunk Road and Vikas Marg, besides Najafgarh Road. Commuters have been advised to avoid the roads near the puja sites from 2 p.m. on Friday to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Restrictions on movement of commercial vehicles will be imposed on major inter-State passages.
