Tihar inmate found hanging in jail

NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old Tihar Central Jail inmate allegedly hanged himself in the early hours of Thursday.

According to the police, the incident came to light shortly after midnight when Ashok, an under-trial in a murder case, was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a “lungi”. He had been arrested by the Kirti Nagar police and lodged in the jail in May.

A magisterial enquiry has been initiated into the matter.
