Air Chief takes a Dhruv flight
BANGALORE: The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal F.H. Major, flew in the Advanced Light Helicopter, Dhruv, powered by the Shakti engine, here on Thursday. The flight was piloted by Wing Commander (retd.) Unni Pillai, Deputy Chief Test Pilot, HAL.
The flight lasted for over 20 minutes. After the flight, Air Chief Marshal Major described the ALH as an outstanding flying platform. “It is a great feeling to fly a beautiful machine,” he said. He visited various facilities in the helicopter division. Later, HAL Chairman Ashok K. Baweja briefed him about the weaponised version of the Dhruv.
