Tiwari’s appeal to media

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari exhorted the media to prepare a vision to cope with the rapid changes taking place in the information technology sector.

Speaking at a seminar on “Media as People’s Voice – Pre and Post Independence” organised by the Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh and AP Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) to coincide with the National Press Day here, Mr. Tiwari said there was need for the print and electronic media to adapt to the fast-paced changes in the technology. There is urgent need for the media to ensure that people’s aspirations were reflected in reasonable and responsible manner in the newspapers.

The Governor recalled the contributions of freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru and others, who published newspapers to fight against the British rulers.
