Easy win for Globe

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Globe scored a comfortable 3-0 win over Accountant General (AP) in the super league of the SAAP premier league prize money football tournament at the Gymkhana here on Friday.

Globe shot into lead in the 13th minute when Zama latched on to a neat cross from Mika to find the target.

Just before the break, Mika was himself in the scoring act with a solo effort. In the second session, Alamdar Raza struck the third goal with a long-ranger to seal the victory.

APSWR triumphs

APSWR School (Shaikhpet) defeated Shanthi Niketan (Kachiguda) 5-3 in the boys’ final of the 53rd inter-school kho-kho championship here.

In the girls’ final, Government High School (Kachiguda) got the better of St. Francis High School 2-0.

Other results: Boys: Semifinals: APSWR bt Keshav Memorial HS 18-15; Shanthi Niketan HS bt Government High School (Kachiguda) 3-2.

Boxing tournament

The Hyderabad district inter-junior college boxing championship (under-19) for boys and girls will be held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium on November 17.

The district team for the State-level championship on November 18 will be picked based on the performances here. For details, call 9290049752.

Medak in final

Medak District Hockey Association entered the final of the junior State hockey championship with a 4-1 win over GHMC Amberpet here on Friday.

For the winners, Awais, Ramakrishna Jr., Ramakrishna Sr. and Kamesh scored one goal apiece, while Huzura Singh reduced the margin.

In another semifinal, GHMC Red Hills defeated Young Hyderabad 4-2. Srinivas netted a brace and Khadeer and Cripson struck once each for GHMC.

For the loser, Musharaf and Muqeed scored one goal apiece.
