Lucknow: Three women and a child were electrocuted to death in Hamirpur village on the outskirts of the city, police said on Friday. The incident occurred on Thursday when three-year-old Sunny touched a high-tension wire while playing on the roof of his house. In a bid to rescue him, his mother Sumitra (25) and neighbours Maya (38) and Chandravati (38) also came in contact with the wire. While three of them died on the spot, Chandravati died on way to a hospital, they said. The district administration has announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each for the next of the kin of the deceased.
