Boy’s death sparks violence

Rai Bareli: A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding State Roadways bus in Fursatganj area in the district on Friday, triggering protests by locals who torched several vehicles and blocked the Lucknow-Allahabad highway for over three hours.

The boy, a student of a local school, was run over by the bus this morning while he was on the way to his school, police said.

An agitated mob blocked traffic on the highway and indulged in heavy stone-pelting besides setting several vehicles afire, police said.
