Private Container Freight Station inaugurated Venture set up at a cost of Rs. 25 crore Kochi: The State government would support ventures promoted by Non-Resident Malayalis that suit the requirements of the State, said Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan. Mr. Achuthanandan was speaking after the inauguration of the State’s first full-fledged Private Container Freight Station (CFS) set up by the Falcon Group at Eloor on Friday. Development projectsWith developmental projects like Vallarpadom International Container Transhipment Terminal progressing in the region, there was potential for investors interested in similar initiatives, the Chief Minister said. Minister for Fisheries and Registration S. Sarma, K. Chandran Pillai, MP., MLAs K. Babu and A.M. Yousuf, Cochin Port Trust chairman N. Ramachandran, N.A. Mohammed Kutty, managing director of Falcon Group; and Lissie George, district panchayat member, were present. Modern facilitiesSet up at a cost of Rs.25 crore with modern facilities for stuffing and de-stuffing, in-house customs clearance and others, the CFS is located in 10.2 acres of land adjacent to the existing Integrated Services Complex of the Falcon Group. Falcon Group has a shareholder base of over 235 prominent NRIs and the Director Board comprises eminent business personalities of India and the Middle East. Film actor Mohanlal is the chairman of the group.
