Photo rolls: December 8 last date for submitting forms
Staff Reporter
KANCHEEPURAM: Steps will be initiated to delete the names from the photo electoral rolls of those who failed to return form no.001B to the field staff or at the designated centres/offices on or before December 8, Kancheepuram Collector Santosh K.Misra said in a press release.
The form would be issued through the field staff to the existing voters whose photograph was not included in the electoral rolls.
The 001B forms could either be returned immediately to the field staff after affixing the photograph or submitted later at the taluk office or the municipality concerned.
New entries
For new entries in the voters’ list with January 1, 2008 as the date of eligibility or for transferring the name of a voter from one constituency to another, a new form 001A (on which a passport size photograph has to be affixed) should be presented, according to the press release.
It should be submitted along with form no. 8 (for effecting any change or correction in the details pertaining to existing voters) or form no.8A (for change of address within the same constituency).
Public verification
Photo identity voters’ list prepared by the Election Commission for Kancheepuram, Uthiramerur, Achirapakkam, Madurantakam, Tiruporur, Chengalpattu and Sriperumbudur constituencies would be available for public verification at polling booths, the revenue divisional offices, the taluk offices, the municipalities, designated post offices and the e-service centre at the District Collectorate, Kancheepuram, from Monday, the release said.
