10 hurt in clash

DAVANGERE: Fifteen shops were burnt and 10 persons, including some policemen, were injured in a clash between two groups at Saswehalli village, about 20 km from Honnali in Davangere district on Friday.

Inspector-General of Police (Eastern Range) Satyanarayana Rao said the situation was under control and that additional forces had been stationed at the village. He said the clash erupted after some boys allegedly teased a girl. Senior police officers are camping in the village.
