KOCHI: Childline ambassadors from various Government and aided schools in the district came together on Friday to ensure the protection of children’s rights. In all, 168 children representing various schools participated in the programme held to make children aware of crimes against children and child rights. An awareness class on Child Labour was held by District Labour Officer P.J. Joy. Children were taught how to respond to the situation when they see any such crime in the school or in society. The awareness class was part of the week-long programmes conducted as part of the child labour eradication campaign in the district. Skits were organised at Darul Uloom H.S. School, Government Girls HS School and St. Teresa’s HS School on the occasion. K. Babu, MLA, participated in the inaugural function. District Education Officer K. Chandra and other officials in the social welfare and education department participated. Earlier, a rally was taken out by the participants from St. Antony’s High School to the Town Hall.
