New Delhi: A Blueline bus driver, accused of mowing down a motorcyclist in a road mishap over four years ago here, was on Friday acquitted by a Delhi court after the prosecution failed to establish that he was driving rashly.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gitanjali Goel acquitted Satish Kumar, who used to ply a bus of route number 512(Ambedkar Nagar to Sarojini Nagar Depot), of the charge of causing death of Anil Kumar due to rash driving on January 23, 2003.
The court noted that the prosecution had failed to establish that the negligence of the accused resulted into the accident.
Satish, a resident of Dakshinpuri area in south Delhi here, was earlier chargesheeted under various provisions of the IPC including 279 (rash driving), 304A (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC. - PTI
