Police deployed at V-C’s residence

BERHAMPUR: Suspecting a possible attack on Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University Bijay Kumar Sahu, the Berhampur police have suggested deployment of one platoon of armed police force in front of his official residence on the campus. Reacting to it, university Registrar Suresh Kumar Panda had written to Berhampur Superintendent of Police Nitinjeet Singh to ascertain the facts that led to the suspicion.

Prof. Sahu took charge in July this year. He then unearthed many irregularities in the administration. Many employees were demoted and the services of some terminated.

Speaking to newsmen, Prof. Sahu said he was not perturbed by the recent development and that he was continuing with his day-to-day work as usual.
