Chief Whip flays Naidu

N. Kiran Kumar Reddy

HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party has said that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu cannot dream of competing with Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in terms of development taking place in the State.

Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and others at a press conference here on Saturday denied the charges levelled by the TDP chief that Dr. Reddy had claimed that till he was alive, he would be the Chief Minister. He clarified that Dr. Reddy had only responded to a remark by a TDP MLA that only one year was left for the Congress Government. “Where will we go? Till we are alive, do not think of it,” is all that Dr. Reddy had said, he pointed out. He said it was unfortunate that the TDP president went to extent of charging that the Chief Minister was speaking with arrogance. “It is the TDP chief, whose utterance smack of arrogance,” he said and added that the TDP legislators themselves made such comments against their leader.
