VISAKHAPATNAM: The district Archaka Sangham appealed to MLAs of all parties to approve the bill to amend the Endowment Act in the ongoing session it self as it would benefit temple priests. The bill could not be introduced in the past and meanwhile a select committee discussed the bill and made recommendations to remove some of the problems being faced by the priests and temple staff, particularly the financial aspects. Some other hurdles were also removed. The Archaka Sangham office-bearers at a press conference said salaries for priests and staff of a large number of temples in the State were inadequate and also not being paid promptly. . Sangham president Rejeti Adiseshu, general secretary Ayiluri Srinivasa Deekshitulu, honorary president Rejeti Sriramacharyulu also spoke.
