Rs. 1 crore sanctioned to school buildings in dilapidated condition


‘Majority of 383 school buildings in bad shape’

Repairs to be taken up in phased manner


ANANTAPUR: Zilla Parishad Chairperson T. Kavitha on Saturday stated that Rs. 1.19 crore funds were sanctioned for repairs works to Zilla Parishad High School buildings in dilapidated condition.

A majority of 383 school buildings were in bad shape, she admitted.Talking to newspersons she stated that the funds will be utilised for repairing the roof and flooring of 78 schools and also to complete the pending works in 15 out of 68 model schools, which were sanction a few years back.

Repairs to all the schools would be taken up in a phased manner, the Zilla Parishad Chariperson said.The works for the funds sanctioned now would be given on the nomination basis so that they were completed fast.

She also mentioned that 42 schools were repaired last year with Rs. 59 lakh.
