Rally to protect ‘Ramar Setu’
CHENNAI: The Rameswaram Ramar Setu Protection Movement has decided to take out a rally at the Boat Club in New Delhi on December 30 demanding the Centre drop the Sethusamudram project and protect the “Ramar Setu.”
The movement warned that the Government would face serious consequences if it went ahead with the project and destroyed the “Ramar Setu.”
Briefing presspersons on the deliberations of the conference of “matathipathis,” “dharmacharyas” and religious scholars of South India here on Saturday, Praveen Togadia, international general secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, said the agitation in support of protecting the “Ramar Setu” would be taken to every village in the country. — Special Corresondent
