HYDERABAD: There is a need to expose younger generation to children’s cinema and the Government should initiate steps in this direction, Akkineni Kutumba Rao, director of ‘Amulyam’, which is part of International Children’s Film Festival, said here on Saturday. Speaking to presspersons, he suggested measures to ensure that school students are shown at least one children’s film every month. Cinema houses can screen these films on Saturdays and Sundays to facilitate children watch these movies, he said while urging theatre owners to promote the children’s films. Filmmaker Siva Nageswara Rao stressed the need for selecting good movies for film festivals and said the selection committee should take care to ensure that children were provided clean presentations. Asked if he had plans for a children’s film, Mr. Siva Nageswara Rao said he had ideas and hoped to come to the next edition of the children’s film festival with an entry.
