Awareness run

Hosur: For the fourth consecutive year, Titan Industries Limited, Hosur organized a rally to create awareness among employers about eradication of child labour.

More than 1,800 Titanians and school students took part in the run which started at the Titans jewellery factory grounds at 7.40 a.m. and concluded at the Watch factory covering 8.5 kms. Sub-Collector Hosur Nagarajan flagged off the rally.

The students carried placards against child labour and stressed the need to provide compulsory education for children. They also distributed pamphlets to sensitise the general public and callous employees who employ children. Sources in Titan point out that the rally would exert some pressure and influence on the parents and employers.
