Third phase of education programme

MALAPPURAM: The third phase of the Classmate Education Programme, implemented by the CASP, has begun in Tirur, Tanur, Mankada and Perumpadappu blocks. The CASP is the social service wing of the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery.
The project, sponsored by ITC, is aimed at strengthening primary education in the rural areas of Malappuram district and making it more attractive for children.
More than 100 children from primary schools in Tirur block took part in a painting competition held on Children’s Day on November 14. Cartoonist K.V.M. Unni inaugurated the programme at the Municipal Town Hall, Tirur. Artist Manu Kallikkad inaugurated the programme at Tanur. More than 90 children took part.
