Navy displays its strength at Parab

KORAPUT: INS Virat , Talwar, Mysore , Gorshkov and Rajput, the warships of Indian Navy, made their entry into the Parab festival being held here. Indian Navy was here for the tenth consecutive time, said Lieutenant Commodore Hemant Walia , the senior inspector of Naval Armament at Sunabeda.

Unlike previous years, importance was given to the display of posters of naval ships showcasing their might in the sea rather than placing a huge numbers of tiny models in the stalls, he added.

For students like Sanjay Muduli, a collegian, it was an opportunity to know about the career opportunities in the Navy.

Parab, the State-level tribal festival has grown to the international standard, Surendra Kumar Nath, DIG South Eastern region said while attending the second day’s celebration of the festival.
