Inherited Cancer Clinic launched

BANGALORE: New Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore, announced the launch of its Inherited Cancer Clinic at its unit opposite Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore.

Speaking to presspersons, P.P. Bapsy, Senior Consultant of New Apollo Hospitals said inherited cancer occurs in a person born with a change, or mutation, in his or her genes. This mutation is handed down through generations and the entire family could get affected. Apart from counselling for family members, the clinic will help plan an intensive surveillance for the family for detecting the disease, she added.
