Rs 10 lakh seized from excise official in A.P.

MAHABUBNAGAR: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) who laid a trap arrested an excise superintendent of Mahabubnagar, D.Ranjeet, and recovered Rs.10 lakh from his possession near Balanagar mandal headquarters on Sunday.
The officials also seized a car in which Ranjeet was travelling.
According to information , Parusharam Goud, president of the district toddy-tappers association, approached the ACB officials and told them that the excise superintendent of Mahabubnagar had demanded Rs.15 lakh to get the licences of toddy shops at Mahabubnagar, Kodangal and Kosgi towns in the district renewed.
