Kozhikode: The city police on Sunday arrested two Nigerian youths on charges of counterfeiting dollars, possessing forged documents and illegal stay in the country. The Kasaba police nabbed Ogifoga Rvis Umar, 28, and Prince Okfar, 29, from a lodge near the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus station. Sixteen bundles of fake dollars, a box containing chemicals and a machine were seized from them. One of the accused, Sylva Flef Frank, is absconding, the police said. The lodge authorities alerted the police on suspecting the Nigerians of illegal activities. The police said the passport and other documents in the possession of the accused were also forged. The Nigerians arrived in the city three days ago. They had earlier been to Bangalore and Coimbatore. Cases have been registered under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 3 (2) of the Passport Act and 489 (a) (tampering with property mark with intend to cause injury) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
