Special insight into the world synopsis

Katja and Catherine share a fascinating relationship with music and nature. Both blind, the girls have developed a heightened sense of touch and hearing which affords them a special insight into the world around them. The film offers a glimpse into their environment by exploring how their surroundings feel and sound to them. A short film directed by Erlend E. Mo from Denmark.

The Sprout

The film depicts a sprout which is unhappy at being stuck to the ground. It wants to move around and go ahead.

But sadly its ambitions make it fall to death. However, as death is not the end for plants, it grows again. A short film from Iran directed by Farkhondeh Torabi.

Standing Alone

Twelve-year old Mohammad has written a story that has won the first prize in the inter-school competition. The heads of the school are going to offer him a prize on the day of mid-Shaban. A 90-minute film from Iran directed by Gholam Reza Ramezani.

No Crocodile Tears

A boy from city goes to his grandfather’s country home for a summer holiday. Soon after his arrival, weird things happen one after another. A crocodile is suspected to be behind this and crocodile hunters arrive.

To protect the crocodiles, the boy convinces the other boys and girls in the village to wage a war against the smugglers.

Nandu’s King

Nandu is growing up within the limitations of his small village and the rigid mindset of his grandmother. Going to school is something he cannot even dream of! He is very happy the way he is, until he desires to meet the President of India who he thinks is his King.

The Cleaner

The cleaner goes through his life removing and disposing things around us. In the background of his daily duties a couple come together and grows apart, hidden and revealed by the actions of the cleaner.
