The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses plying in the city and its suburbs are using paper destination boards written in ink. The commuters find it difficult to read these paper boards as the names of places written are often illegible. As a result, many fail to catch the right buses. The KSRTC authorities should take immediate steps to stop using paper boards and instead use permanent boards. V.K. Kumar Thiruvananthapuram Need for a waiting shedBus passengers going to Thampanoor and East Fort side from Karamana have to wait on the road side in front of the KSEB transformer during hot and rainy seasons as there is no waiting shed. This is a very pathetic condition. The city corporation should take immediate steps to put up a waiting shed at Karamana or allow private parties to put up one free-of-cost. Since there is sufficient space in front of the transformer to put up a waiting shed, there would be no hurdles on this front. The corporation authorities should be kind enough to come forward to the help the passengers of Karamana. V.G. Balakrishnan Karamana Extend road dividerIt has become difficult to cross the road along the stretch from TVS workshop to Pappanamcode due to heavy traffic. The residents of Sankar Nagar and Vinayaka Nagar, mostly senior citizens, are put in to difficulty due to the absence of provision for crossing the road. Though there is a request for erecting a traffic signal at the junction, the authorities concerned have not heeded to the demand. The best way out is to extend the divider, which at present stops in front of the TVS workshop, up to Pappanamc- ode junction with provision to take u-turn for vehicles in between. The authorities concerned should open their eyes and do the needful to minimise the difficulties of the people of this area. G. Ramachandran Kaimanam
