According to Public Works Department sources, it will be a ‘framed structure’ with the court halls located on the ground floor and the first floor, while the offices would come up in the ground-floor and three upper floors.

It will have seven court halls, Judge chamber, seven court offices, one Government Pleader room, Bar Association room, property room, waiting hall for the members of the public, police lock-up and toilet facilities. The complex also includes construction of quarters for Principal District Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Judicial Magistrates.

The building has been designed to resist earthquake, the sources said. A lightning arrester will be placed at an expenditure of Rs.1.40 lakh.

An exclusive 11 KV capacity transformer will be provided on the campus for ensuring uninterrupted power supply. Five borewells will be set up for ensuring supply of water.

The work is being executed at a fast pace and the complex is located near the Collectorate campus. “The court campus will be a landmark building in Perambalur district,” the sources said.
