Meeting held
Chief Educational Officer, Tiruchi, K. Swaminathan has said that equal importance should be accorded to students’ involvement in co-curricular activities such as NSS, NCC Scouts and Guides and Youth Red Cross as it would inculcate sense of social service and social responsibility at the young age.
Presiding over a meeting attended by the coordinators of NSS, Youth Red Cross, Eco Clubs here recently, Mr. Swaminathan underscored the need to identify talents among students and impart necessary training to them to make them good citizens of the country.
The students, he said, should be constantly enlightened about personal hygiene and cleanliness, cleanliness of school, AIDS awareness and tree planting.
