Don’t shift post office

We have a post office in our locality in Srinagar Colony, which is serving the residents for over 20 years. Due to some problem with the owner of the premises, the postal authorities want to shift the same. Since the existing location is very convenient to the residents, I request the postal authorities not to shift the post office.

Heartening move

It is heartening to see SCR opening the Sitafalmandi bypass railway line towards Malkajgiri for passenger traffic. Though it is now intended to divert some long distance trains this route, and decongesting Secunderabad, this bypass line can play a more important role in suburban train transport of the twin cities. The MMTS, which has become a hit nowadays and a panacea for commuting problems of Hyderabad, should be extended to Bolarum after electrification of the tracks at Bolarum section. After that some MMTS trains can be run from Bolarum to Falaknuma without touching Secunderabad using this bypass line. This would substantially reduce travelling time from Bolarum to Falaknuma without transit at Secunderabad. Also, railway authorities should explore possibilities of operating MMTS services on the Sanatnagar – Moula Ali bypass line.

Save monument

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has declared the Badshahi Ashoorkhana as a protected monument.

The beautiful and rare Persian enamel tile work on the walls of the Ashoorkhana attracts tourists from far-off places. Recently, the Government spent lakhs of rupees on the restoration and renovation work, which has enhanced the beauty of the monument, but unfortunately the entire courtyard of the historical monument is totally encroached upon.

Hence, we request the authorities concerned to remove all the encroachments.
