Mr. Harsha Kumar said formation of separate Andhra with Visakhapatnam as the State capital would ensure development in the backward areas of the region and described how proceeds from auction of government lands here were being invested for development of Hyderabad.

Asked to comment on the claim of former PCC president and Congress MLA M. Satyanarayana Rao that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had obstructed the formation of separate Telangana, he said whether someone supported or opposed, the final decision would be taken by the Congress high command.
